“Home is not just made of four walls, it is the identity of security, love and respect.”
Sarv Ashram Foundation believes that “home” is the fundamental right of every human being, and with this thought we try to provide shelter to the needy. Our goal is that no person should remain hungry or homeless.
Every person dreams of having a safe roof, where he can live peacefully with his family. But unfortunately there are many people in our society who do not get this happiness of home. Many children spend the night under the open sky on the streets, many families become homeless due to natural disasters or poverty and many elderly people keep wandering in search of a safe home even in the last phase of their life.
We try to ensure that –
* Children get a safe and loving environment, where they can study and move forward.
* Families get a permanent roof, so that they can live a life with dignity.
* Elderly get a home in the form of an old age home where they can get both support and affection.
* Disaster affected families can get rehabilitation and new shelter.
“Home is the first school, first security and first identity of a human being.”
Our aim is to provide a safe and loving environment like home to every needy person, so that he can live life with new confidence and new dreams.
Why is home important?
Home is not just a building, it is the basis of human life.
It provides us security, respect and belonging. The importance of a true home can be understood from these points:
Security
* Home protects us from rain, sun, cold and natural disasters.
* It also keeps us safe from external threats and brings stability in life.
Self-esteem
* Having a permanent home is linked to the self-esteem of
a person.
* People who live without a home are often victims of neglect and humiliation of the society. Home gives them respect and social identity.
The center of the family
* Home is the place where the family lives together.
* Children grow up here, elders get respect and every member of the family gets emotional support.
Education and Development
* Without a home, children are unable to attend school regularly, nor are able to concentrate on studies.
* A safe home gives children a path to education and a better future.
Mental Peace
* Home gives a person mental peace and confidence.
* When a person has his own place to live, he can put his energy into fulfilling other goals of life.
“Home is not only a basic need of a human being but also the foundation of his dreams and self-esteem.”
This is why Sarva Ashram Foundation strives to provide home and shelter to every needy person.
Our work for shelter
Sarva Ashram Foundation believes that every human being has the right to a safe home. With this thought, we are working at various levels, so that the needy can get permanent or temporary shelter.
1. Housing construction for homeless families:- We are working to build affordable and durable houses for those families who become homeless due to poverty or disaster. These houses are prepared with local resources and eco-friendly technology, so that they can remain safe for a long time.
Shelter home for children:- There are many children who are orphans or living on the streets. We provide them shelter homes, where they get food, education and a loving environment. This shelter becomes the foundation of their better future.
Old age home for the elderly:- We run old age homes for such elderly people who do not have the support of the family. Here they get security, care and belonging, so that they can spend the last stage of their life with dignity.
Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation: We run emergency shelter centres and rehabilitation programmes for people who lose their homes in floods, earthquakes or other natural disasters. This provides immediate protection to the affected families and later permanent housing.
Women and Widow Assistance:
We provide shelter to women and widows who are homeless and struggling with difficult circumstances. They are provided safe accommodation, skill training and employment opportunities.
We believe that a home is not just a place to live, but a place of self-respect and the beginning of a new life.
We want everyone in need to have this right.
